When the adirondack chairs hit the lawn, you know summer has officially started. These classic beauties can be expensive to buy, but are actually easier to build than you think.
The secret to building these chairs is in the right templates, which you can get from Woodworkers Journal at the link below. Woodworkers of all skill levels can build these chairs, but you will need the proper tools: a cordless drill, miter saw, router, jigsaw, and sander.
Plywood or MDF is an inexpensive building material here. Just make sure you stain the chair with a poly or paint it with weather resistant outdoor paint to protect it from the elements.
With a bit of patience, you’ll be kicking back and sipping lemonade on your lawn, while relaxing in your new chairs.

Whole Foods sets date for Easton opening
As Hot Toys slowly works its way through the Iron Man universe, it was inevitable that after producing action figures for almost every last armored suit Tony Stark has built, it would eventually get around to turning characters like Gwyneth Paltrow’s Pepper Potts into sixth-scale collectibles.
At this point it’s almost a moot point to ooh and aah over the level of detail that Hot Toys puts into its figures. But you still can’t help but be impressed at how much this tiny figure looks like Gwyneth Paltrow’s character from Iron Man 3—right down to the look of disgust on her face at the thought of someone eating a Cup-a-Soup.
It looks like Hot Toys actually has two versions of the Pepper Potts figure planned. One that includes various hands, alternate feet (with and without shoes), and a swappable Iron Man Mark IX right arm that even has a glowing LED repulsor on on the palm.
The other version includes all the same accessories and swappable parts, but with the addition of an entire Iron Man Mark IX suit of armor plus a helmet feature Pepper Potts’ face inside. Pricing and availability details haven’t been officially revealed for either set, but you can expect to have to cough up a few hundred bucks when they’re finally available some time in 2016. Alton Brown is a chef, a television host, a storyteller and author, and a witty explainer of the fundamentals of cooking. He’s the embodiment of Lifehacker’s culinary aspirations and unsurprisingly we regularly feature his work.
You probably know him best from his long-running show Good Eats on the Food Network, where he explored the science and methodology of cooking and the equipment required to do so.
