As fans, we geek out about Star Wars all the time. But it’s pretty rare that you get to see the actual stars do that… with the exception of John Boyega. In this new video, though, several stars of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story explain their excitement at being in this world.
Beyond that, there’s also a few new shots from the movie, some behind the scenes footage, and a mention of the opening crawl of A New Hope, which should clarify what this movie is to anyone who’s confused.
Gareth Edwards’ analogy of the actors being like Star Wars toys is a bit Hitchcockian, but we get what he means. The shots of Cassian in the Imperial officer suit are super cool and just the general excitement on set is refreshing. This may be my favorite Rogue One video yet, just because it’s so human.
One note, though. Since when could lasers just blow away the legs of an Imperial Walker? Doesn’t the second “A” in “AT-ACT” stand for “Armored?” There must have been a pretty substantial improvement in armor technology between the AT-ATs of The Empire Strikes Back and AT-ACTs of Rogue One, or a huge devolution in weapon capabilities of the Rebels in that time.
Just another question for December 16, when Rogue One: A Star Wars Story opens.
